Ministry and Resource Development Committee
Purpose: The MRD committee shall be to strengthen the mission of the
congregation and ministry of the staff by assisting them in special areas.
- Annually review with each Council Member with emphasis on New
Members, the constitution and job descriptions for the area they have
accepted responsibility to coordinate. The Council Representative
assumes the responsibility for staffing and seeing that leadership of
their assigned committee exists. It is recommended they become a member
of a 2-3 person leadership team in their given area.
- When needed, assign a MRD Committee member to assist a Council
Member with the functioning of a particular committee needing help
organizing.
- Plan and organize annually the Council Retreat with Pastors suggestions.
- Provide support and attention to the Pastors and Council Leadership,
encouraging Continuing Education.
- MRD has responsibility to keep all job descriptions current and
relevant.
- MRD will conduct annual reviews with a Council Representative
present for each Pastor and paid Staff Member prior to year end.
Emphasis should be put on acquiring proper formats for the reviews. A
written summary should be forwarded to the Church Council by MRD on
important non-confidential issues.
- Perform the responsibility of active listening to concerns of the
Pastors or any Member of the congregation. Warranted concerns should be
communicated to Council and or Pastors.
- The Church Council may request the assistance of the MRD Committee
in problem situations in an advisory role.
- MRD Committee Members must realize that issues and matters, before
committee may require a high degree of confidentiality.
- Two nominations for this committee shall be forwarded to the
Nominating Committee. One each, selected by the MRD Committee and the
Church Council after having had conversation with the individual to be
nominated concerning duties, responsibilities and willingness to serve.
