Evangelism Committee
Purpose: This committee is concerned with the coordination of congregational efforts to minister to all Christian needs, ranging from inside Prince of Peace and extending out to Global Missions.
Call Ministry
Contact those moving into the community with current brochure
Recruit and provide training for persons to assist the pastors in calling on first-time visitors and prospective new members. (example: Outreach Committee)
Provide and update new member's packets
Caring Ministry
Provide printed materials to encourage prayer and devotion outside the church setting.
Encourage and support Parish Nurse Program.
Recruit and provide training for persons to assist the pastors in calling on shut-ins, those in nursing homes, sick and hospitalized.
Mentor Program - recruit and provide training to call on inactive members.
Maintain Prayer Chain calling list.
Acquaint congregational members. (example: introduce in service with names, vocations, hobbies, etc.)
Global Ministry
Education and promote awareness in the congregation ministries in the U.S. and abroad
Education and promote awareness of church affiliated programs such as LSSI, Campus Ministry.
Educate and promote awareness of church-wide affiliated programs such as LWR, World Hunger, seminaries.
Provide information and encourage participation in disaster emergencies as they arise.
Publicity
Coordinate with all committees publicity as needed (examples: newsletter items, newspaper articles, posters, special advertising, website, etc.)
Develop and maintain a list of sources for publicity media. (examples: TV, radio, newspapers).
Social Ministry
Maintain food pantry and oversee the distribution
Provide assistance in meeting humanitarian physical needs to individuals such as home repairs, clothing, rides.
Encourage participation and provide coordination of assistance with local humanitarian groups (example: The Men's Emergency Shelter, Crisis Nursery, Empty Tomb, etc.)
