Green Frogs
The Green Frog class started a new curriculum this year (9-2011), A Beka Book, a Christian-based K4 curriculum for preschoolers. This is the first year the program has been implemented here at POPCELC.
The children have a very busy day with all the activities and are learning all throughout the day. Listed below are just some of the areas which are covered during the day or on a weekly basis:
Bible Time
Memory verse, Bible lesson, prayer (student and teacher lead) and songs
Readiness skills
Coloring, cutting, tracing
ABC-123
Letter and number activities
ABC Writing
Writing letters and recalling previous letters, writing words and sentences
Art Project
Various projects using the readiness skills
Phonics
Letter recognition as well and sounds, early reading skills
Music
Fun age-appropriate songs
Poetry and Finger plays
We are very excited to have this program at the center and the children have already been learning a lot from the start.
