Text Box:      Thank You
    Prince of
   Peace  . . .

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Thank you for making a difference and helping us reach out to those who are at risk for hunger.  Your gift of $355.50, contributed from Prince of Peace Lutheran and other St. Joseph churches was received on December 4, 2006.

Each month our 180 agencies help over 31,000 of our neighbors who often have to decide between paying for rent, utilities, medical bills and buying food.  Your generosity makes a difference.

Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ,

Greetings in the mighty/ awesome/powerful name of JESUS!

We here at Jesus is the Way Prison Ministries want to thank you for helping us with our “Miracle of Christmas” program this year.  The goal of this program was to share the love of Jesus with the families we were able to contact as well as bless the

children with Christmas gifts.  We are happy to report to you that we were successful in meeting our goal – PRAISE GOD!

42 families (127 children) participated in our program.  Out of the 42 families that participated, ALL were shown the love of JESUS in action and blessed with Christmas gifts.  We say a big, “THANK YOU!”

We were also able to bless three other local ministries with the gifts that we had left over.  Thanks again for your help – we pray that you have a Blessed and Merry Christmas knowing that JESUS is the REASON for the SEASON!

In His service,

Brenda Mathes

Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity in 2007

In 2007, Champaign County

Lutheran Churches are encouraged to join in with Habitat for Humanity to build two houses in Champaign County.  Please save the date for our kick-off event on Saturday, January 13.  We will meet from noon - 3:00 pm at Grace Lutheran Church in Champaign (corner of Prospect and Springfield).  Lunch will be served, and representatives from both Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and Habitat for Humanity will describe the plans for the summer projects.  Lots of help will be needed to make this a success.  We still need to recruit contact people in each of the churches, as well as members for the planning board.  Please contact our local chairperson, Norm Fisher, or the Habitat Director, Eileen Gebbie, if you can assist in any way.
