Cookbooks Have Arrived!

In celebration of 40 years of family, food and fellowship,

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, St. Joseph

put together an heirloom cookbook!

Worthy of handing down for generations, this book is sure to be a favorite. It contains over 700 tried and true recipes from contributors of all ages, held together with a three-ring binder and hard back cover.  In honor of loved ones whom have passed on, recipes were included by their family members and marked with a ruby.  The ruby is the symbol of the 40th anniversary.   Artwork for the chapter dividers was created by some of our talented children in the congregation.  The children also have their own chapter containing some of their favorite foods.

Books are available at a reduced price just in time for the holidays!

Books will be $15 each from now until Christmas.

Please see Vicky in the church office to purchase

Beth Moore Bible Study begins Wednesday, April 2

The Beth Moore study, "A Woman's Heart:  God's Dwelling Place," begins Wednesday, April 2.  This eleven week course by well-known author and Bible teacher Beth Moore, begins Wednesday, April 2nd and concludes June 11th.  We'll meet each week from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the West Fellowship Hall to study the Old Testament tabernacle.  You will be challenged to prepare your heart to become a home for His love and glory--a dwelling place for the Most High God.  This structure, designed by God Himself in glorious detail, illustrates God's desire for relationship with His children an prefigures the coming of the true Tabernacle, Jesus Christ.  Cost of the participant book is $15.  You will have opportunity to pay your registration fee when you pick up your book on the 2nd.  If you have not signed up to participate, please join us!  We will order your book immediately and you will have it by the next session.

Get Involved in Planning for Youth Ministry at Prince of Peace!  Special Meetings:  April 4th-5th

A representative of Tentmakers Youth Minister Services will be at Prince of Peace in early April to help our congregation form a "Youth Ministry Management Plan" (YMMP).Input and ideas are needed from AS MANY PEOPLE AS IS POSSIBLE from our congregation to form a YMMP which will serve our congregation well for years to come.  The YMMP will also serve as the basis of a job description for a youth minister, whom we will begin searching for in the next few months.

You do not need to have young children involved in our church to be an important and valuable contributor to these meetings!  We want a good cross-section of our congregation—from all age-groups—represented in this important process.  Get involved in these meetings, and get excited about what we can do for God through our youth ministry at Prince of Peace!

The YMMP formation process will take place in two sessions:

Friday, April 4th, from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m.

Saturday, April 5th, from 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (Lunch served at church).

Try to participate in the entire process, or as much of it as you can!

Confirmation Sunday, April 27th

The following Prince of Peace 8th graders, upon completing our congregation's confirmation requirements, will be affirming God's baptismal promises to them during worship on April 27th:

For the past two years these kids have been engaged in a regular discipline of prayer, bible study, classroom discussion and service activities.  We should be very proud of them for their work and commitment!  Please keep our confirmands in your prayers, that they will continue to build their lives on the Rock, Jesus Christ our Risen Lord.
